A Good Day

Saturday was a good day!

Sweetpea has done some working out Friday and Saturday.  She is still in pain but tired of laying in bed.  I don’t know if this is just a temporary change or what made the change but I am happy even if it is temporary and praying that it lasts.  She was in a really good mood the last two days.

Today is a special day for her.  It is "Daughter’s Day".  A Holiday I made up when she was 3.  Memorial Day weekend just happens to be halfway between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.  Her birthday is in December so it started as a reason to take her shopping for summer clothes and toys. BUT she was in charge.  Little kids are usually drug around stores and forced to try on what mom wants them to, or actually up until that point I had just brought clothes home for her.  But this first daughters day I told her she was in charge.  We went to Penney’s and she got to pick out swimsuits to try on.  She had never tried on clothes before and she LOVED modeling them.  She got to pick out some flip flops and some sun glasses.  Whate ever she wanted to look at, we did.  She chose where we went for lunch (McDonalds of course!) and then we went to the park. Um.. I believe we went to Toys’s R Us too but I probably chose to block that memory out.  Once Punkers was born we had to think of a special day for her so it is over Labor Day weekend.  That is usually when we do school shopping for her.  Over the years we have done different things.  Sometimes they want to plan it, but they often like me to surprise them.  Sometimes there are specific things they need.  Punkers didn’t used to be a shopper so we would go to a movie.  A hair cut is usually involved.  They just love the fact that they are "in charge" for the day and that for the most part it is a date with mom.  We usually have a family dinner of their choice.  OH, and they MUST pick out something for their sibling but they seem to look forward to that.  Like a treasure hunt of trying to find something "just right" that they know their sister would like. Now that I think about it, that is probably the reason for Sweetpeas good mood the last couple of days.  She is SO excited for daughters day.  LOL.  She sent me a text at 12:05 saying IT’S DAUGHTERS DAY.
